Our Fairy Tale Beginning
Once upon a Time there was a beautiful princess (Cori) who decided to travel to a far off land (West Virginia) to acquire great knowledge and information from a great educational institution (West Virginia University). Shortly after arriving in this new land, on a cool fall night (October 1993) the young princess was in her tower (Towers’ Dormitory) studying. When she looked up she saw a handsome prince (Todd) standing in the doorway. They were introduced and it was love at first sight.
The
prince knowing the princess was new to the land wanted for her to experience
native rituals of his homeland. They would attend a contest of strength,
endurance, and skill between the natives of his land and citizens of a
far off land (WVU vs. Miami football game, 1993). The natives won this
great battle and there was great celebrations held in the streets. To celebrate,
the prince took the princess to feast and dine on native fowl at the kingdom’s
ballroom (BW3, buffalo wings).
They continued to court one another until one day when the prince took the princess high atop a mountain (Cooper’s Rock). There he asked for the princess’s hand in marriage. And of course she said yes.
Time
would go by before the happy couple would find a place befitting of
such a special
occasion and celebration. At last one was found, the Magic Kingdom. Which
brings us to the present.
