So let's talk about those nutty Catholics. And no, this has nothing to do with the recent passing of one Pope and the election of his replacement. But it does have to do with the Vatican. Specifically, the Vatican's university.
Seems they're soon to be offering a new course for exorcists. Mm hm. Yep. Those guys who think they're casting out evil spirits from possessed people.
It'll cover such things as the history of Satanism, its context in the Bible, lessons in psychology and law, as well as seminars on the spiritual, liturgical and pastoral work involved in being an exorcist.
Apparently, in Italy, there's a lot of concern about the influence of Satanic cults, especially among impressionable youngsters.
Much ado about nothing, in my opinion. Reports of Satanist cults are wildly overblown. Here in the States, the FBI has looked into case after case of alleged Satanic ritual killings. And not once have they ever found any evidence of such a thing. No cults revealed.
I would like to ask any reader out there in internetland to email me if he/she has had any direct contact with a Satanist cult, especially any visitors from Italy.
Maybe one of these days, the Catholics will get their heads out of the 17th Century. But it probably won't be in my lifetime.
