Were you raised as a freethinker or to be religious?
Freethinker. My parents were agnostic and they pretty much let me make up my mind.
What originally set you on the path to freethought?
National Geographic magaziness on evolution that Mom always had around the house.
When did you "come out" as a freethinker to family/friends/public, and how did it go over?
I never was anything other than an atheist, so I never needed to come out. My fanatic Christian relative did everything they could to convert my entire family, but it never worked.
Do you feel it necessary to continue to hide your beliefs in any circumstances, and if so, why?
Of course not! If people don't like it, they don't have to talk to me.
